Project description
The RTC is a major infrastructure and service programme for structuring bus lines in Dakar. Itincludes: implementation of infrastructures and equipment to improve bus service levels, purchase of modern high-capacity buses, technical and financial support for operator professionalisation, and capacity building for operations and maintenance. The project also includes urban developments and equipment.

General Objective
- Improve the service level of public transport buses.
Specific Objectives
- Ensure feeder services to the BRT and TER and set up an intermodal system
- Create a priority bus network and improve service quality
- Implement fare integration and interoperability
- Upgrade infrastructures and equipment
- Operate low-carbon rolling stock and modern systems
Expected results
- 14 lines deployed (222 km)
- 380 new gas buses acquired (80 midibuses, 300 standard buses)
- 15 terminals, 30 km of roads, 9 intersections with traffic lights, 700 bus stops developed
- 2 depot workshops built (Ouakam and Keur Massar)
- 400,000 passengers/day transported
- 1,500–2,000 jobs created during construction; 2,500–3,000 direct jobs during operation
