Project description

The PADUL aims to balance the enhancement of the coastline with its preservation through a sustainable planning tool, the creation of Special Development Zones, and the implementation of climate change adaptation strategies.

Overall Objective :

Balance the enhancement and preservation of the coastal zone through sustainable planning tools and the creation of Special Development Zones.

Specific Objectives:

Develop urban planning tools that reconcile coastal ecosystem balance with economic and social development needs.
Create Special Development Zones.
Strengthen the institutional framework and establish a legal and regulatory system for coastal management.
Ensure institutional leadership for the PADUL.
Strengthen the capacities of local stakeholders and raise awareness among populations.
Strengthen resilience and adaptation to climate change in the coastal zone.

Expected results

The assets of the Senegalese coastline are enhanced.
The coastal economy is revitalized through the development of special zones.
