Project description
The project involves major water-transfer systems enabling the mobilisation of quality water from
favourable zones to deficit areas. The transfers leverage the potential of the Senegal River, the
Gambia River, and certain groundwater resources. The project covers:
- the GTE from Lake Guiers to the Dakar–Mbour–Thiès triangle (DMT);
- the transfer from Lake Guiers to the Ferlo;
- the three-branch inter-basin transfers from the Gambia River (Sambangalou dam) and Koulountou up to Thiès; and
- groundwater transfers from Malem Hodar.
