Project description

Although maize is widely consumed in the country, local production is not sufficient to meet national demand. In 2021, the coverage rate was 58%. This shortfall also strongly impacts the livestock sector—particularly poultry—making it vulnerable to external shocks. The project aims to contribute to national maize self-sufficiency by 2029 through facilitating access to inputs and agricultural equipment, improving agricultural infrastructure, and strengthening the capacities of stakeholders.
