Project description

The National Laboratory of Analysis and Control (LANAC) is responsible for quality control of food and non-food products at the stages of production, marketing, import and export. To fully carry out its mission, LANAC must be relocated, modernised, and decentralised across the different agropoles.

Overall Objective

  •  Build an International Centre of Excellence for the Control of Food and Non-Food Products in
    Dakar and decentralise LANAC across the different agropoles.

Specific Objectives

  • Conduct sensory, physical, chemical, physico-chemical and microbiological analyses of food and
    non-food products
  • Certify food and non-food products for export and ensure the quality of imported products

 

Expected results

  • Consumer products are available in sufficient quantity and quality
  • Population health is improved, contributing to quality human capital
  • Senegalese products are competitive on local and international markets
  • Local actors are supported in promoting their products with respect to sustainable development
  • LANAC is recognised as a reference laboratory at national and subregional levels
