Project description
The availability of meat per capita was estimated at 18 kg in 2022, with 95% covered by local production. The remaining gap is filled through imports of live animals from neighboring countries. With the expected strong population growth leading to a significant rise in national demand for red meat, it is crucial to strengthen the development of an intensive bovine subsector. The project will contribute to improving cattle genetics (meat breeds), strengthening animal feed systems, developing fattening units, and establishing modern slaughter and butchery infrastructures.
