Project description

The project aims to improve the quality of life in disadvantaged peri-urban and rural areas of Senegal through sustainable access to drinking water, sanitation services, and improved hygiene. It contributes to achieving the SDGs and strengthening resilience against waterborne diseases and
pandemics. The project includes three components: secure water and sanitation services; health, nutritional and economic resilience; and strengthening climate-change resilience and governance.

General Objective

Specific Objectives

  • Establish secure and sustainable drinking water and sanitation services
  • Develop and implement a programme to prevent communicable diseases through hygiene
    promotion
  •  Support socio-economic activities by valorising products from faecal sludge treatment
  • Strengthen climate-change resilience

  • Secure and sustainable drinking water and sanitation services are established
  • A hygiene-promotion-based disease-prevention programme is developed and implemented
