Project description

The project aims to acquire 5 additional TER trainsets, each composed of 4 to 8 cars including two motor cars, with a capacity of 500 to 800 passengers. This aims to increase transport capacity to meet the strong growth in urban mobility needs and to reinforce the transport plan in preparation for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games (JOJ) with a TER every 8 minutes.

General Objective

Improve service quality and anticipate imminent saturation of the TER system.

Specific Objectives

Increase transport capacity to meet the strong growth in urban mobility needs
Strengthen the transport plan for the 2026 JOJ
Increase operating revenue through higher traffic enabled by additional trainsets
Create several thousand direct and indirect jobs
Reduce greenhouse gas emissions

Expected results

TER trainset operation and maintenance are optimised
Service level is improved
Train frequency is improved (1 train every 5 minutes)
Mobility is improved and activity hubs are better served
