Project description
Rice is the main staple cereal consumed in the country. However, imports continue to increase to meet rising national demand, significantly worsening the trade balance deficit. In 2022, local production covered only 40% of national rice needs. The National Rice Self-Sufficiency Program aims to produce 2,193,136 tons of white rice by 2029, achieving 100% coverage of national consumption needs.
