Project description

The Rural Employment Promotion Support Project (PAPER) aims to stimulate the labor market in rural areas by improving workers’ employability, strengthening productivity, and optimizing the quality of agricultural and agri-food production. It contributes to the creation of sustainable jobs while promoting decent working conditions. The project supports farmers in optimizing productivity by emphasizing cost control, risk reduction, and limiting environmental impacts based on the 4F Model (Training, Financing, Land, and Formalization).

Overall Objective :

  • Promote the creation of decent jobs for populations in rural areas.

Specific Objectives :

  • Facilitate access to qualifying training for unqualified job seekers in rural areas.
  • Support economic initiatives in agricultural production and related activities.
  • Strengthen the capacities of rural promoters in developing their projects.

Expected results

  • Technical capacities of local stakeholders in employment and integration are strengthened.
  • 280,000 beneficiaries are sensitized and guided toward rural employment opportunities.
  • 40,000 farmers, workers, and laborers are trained or strengthened technically in promising sectors and organic horticulture.
  • Qualifying training in identified sectors is delivered for job seekers.
  • Promoters’ capacities in rural areas are strengthened for project development and implementation.
