Placing Senegalese citizens abroad at the heart of public policy, stimulating investment, diversifying funding for better support, effective social protection, and substantial assistance… This is the purpose of National Diaspora Day, celebrated on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the CICAD (International Conference Center for Diaspora Development), under the chairmanship of the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye.

Under the theme “Senegalese Diaspora: A Lever for National Transformation,” the first edition of this symbolic day provided an opportunity to review the strengths and weaknesses, as well as the opportunities and both cyclical and structural challenges faced by Senegalese living abroad.

The speeches of the eight (8) representatives and the high-level panels analyzed the issues facing the 15th Region of Senegal.
